It was so much fun, I left wishing I could re-live it all.
I went among mortals as an Elven Maiden with midnight river hair, and sapphire blue dress. Many folk both commoners and nobles did give me a bow as they noticed I was Elf-kind. Truly, I was flattered that Elves win this much respect. Many were surprised at my pointed ears, one little girl and her mother in particular, and whenever I was asked if they were real I replied: “Of course they are, I was born this way!” Excitement dancing in their eyes..

Gracious stall-owners praised my dress and beauty, and a sculptor said he should like to sculpt my profile!
A trebuchet spun and hurled both melons and steel balls across a field that landed with a cracking thud, and archers took aim at targets shaped like animals with many different bows. A Viking woman was weaving while human maidens sang in a circle. A blacksmith hammered in the forge, and in an arena Knights in armour fought without holding back.

As the melee was about to begin, the combatants chose patrons in the crowd and gave single red roses to those who would grant their favour. Surprised was I to find a Knight striding towards me, to fall on bended knee, rose in hand. He claimed that although he was old, he would fight hard. I found I had no words, as everybody looked on. I accepted the rose of the Knight and eagerly watched the fight, with a slight blush in my cheeks.
Truly, I did not ever think that these things would happen in real life!

I wish I had stayed to hear the Uilleann pipes, such a strange and captivating sound that echoes of a forgotten past.
I also bought a couple of things, four silver goblets, an embossed leather bound book, and a unicorn necklace charm.

Mead tastes better from a goblet!

The hills were yet again very beautiful in the clear, chill autumn. Leaves were falling as though through water, and the sunlight piercing and clear.

I’ll keep nice memories of the people I spoke to, and of the eyes that lit up at my Elven ears, in my heart until next time.
